Singer-actor Jay-R survives tragic accident in U.S.

Philippines singer-actor Jay-R was part of that group who went inside the railroad tunnel with some friends and relatives including his girlfriend. One of which was killed in that tragic accident.

Here's some of what Jay-R mother said in one interview:

"Last Sunday, the 11th, they went hiking in the afternoon after church. Tapos, nag-end up sila doon sa canyon dito sa Chatsworth. They were six people. Meron tunnel do'n and it looks like abandoned. Pero before they went in, they were able to talk to some people around. May mga bata na nag-in and out sa tunnel. And then they were able to talk to a lady with a child. Tinanong nila kung ano ang meron dun sa loob. And sabi naman nung ano, nothing except for bats and graffiti.

"So, sila naman, naging curious yata sila. Tapos sila, ‘C'mon guys, we check it out.' Then, in the middle nung walk nila, nung hike, narinig na nila yung [Amtrak passenger] train dumarating. And it so happened na ang distance between the wall and the train, like three feet. So nag-panic silang lahat na anim. Tapos ano, yun... Unfortunately, yung isa sa kanila, si Myra, was hit by the grab bar of the train and she died on the spot," malungkot na salaysay ni Mrs. Sillona.

Myra Theresa Mina-Calove was the sister-in-law of Jay-R's girlfriend, Eliza Calove.

"Everybody...everybody is devastated. Jay-R is having a difficult time. As you know, he experienced something that people would never experience in their life. It's very traumatic," saad ni Mrs. Sillona.

"Right now, it's indefinite," sagot ng ina ng singer. "Kasi, we are trying to...we are doing best to move on with our lives. He's trying to be strong for himself, for Lisa, and her family. And you know, my family, the whole family, we feel so much for the Calove family, most especially."

Hindi naman itinanggi ng mommy ni Jay-R that right now, her son is undergoing some professional counseling.

"Yes, that's the major or the priority right now, to seek professional counseling in order for them to feel better... To Jay-R's fans, friends, and family, from the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank all of them for their support and prayers. For the Sillona and mostly for the Calove family. We really appreciate it."

In relation to this I found an articles giving us the full details of what happened.

Charice will sing for U.S. President-elect Barack Obama

Charice will sing for U.S. President-elect Barack Obama Pre-Inauguration Ball!!

Thats right!!

Filipina singer Charice adds another milestone to her illustrious list of achievements. The young singer will dedicate two songs to Barack Obama before he is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America.

Today, January 18, the young singing sensation will perform during the pre-inaugural ball to be held at the Grand Hyatt Washington Hotel. The actual inauguration of Obama is scheduled to take place at Washington D.C. on January 20.

Charice left the Philippines last Friday, January 16, to prepare for the historic event. Obama's staff requested Charice to sing "God Bless America" and "One Moment in Time," a song originally recorded by Whitney Houston for the 1988 Summer Olympics.

In a previous interview with Star Patroller Mario Dumaual, Charice pointed out, "Dati kumanta ako kay President [Gloria Macapagal] Arroyo, ngayon kay President Obama naman. Iba po 'yong feeling na isa na namang Filipina ang makakapag-perform internationally."

If she is given the chance to talk with Obama, Charice will most likely tell the first African-American President of the US: "Just wanna say thank you for making this dream come true. This is not only an honor for me, not only for me, but also for the Philippines. Thank you."

Oprah Winfrey, an ardent supporter of Obama's presidential campaign, reportedly lobbied to have Charice included in the pre-inaugural ball. In her eponymous talk show, the female TV host called the Pinay singer as the "the most talented girl in the world" during an episode dubbed as "The World's Smartest Kids."

After performing in the pre-inaugural ball, Charice is scheduled to stay in the United States for almost three months to record her first international debut album to be produced by record producer and composer David Foster.

In the meantime, she is promoting Foster's latest CD-DVD Hitman: David Foster & Friends since she is one of several performers included in the album. Other performers were Kenny G., Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, Brian McKnight, Katharine McPhee, Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion.

Its true Rustom Padilla is dead!!!

Gay actor Rustom Padilla arrived in the country after three months of studying in the United States with a one big announcement – he is changing his name to “BB Gandanghari.”

“I’m a woman so call me BB. BB Gandanghari... BB as in Binibini… Rustom is dead, Rustom is not here,” Padilla said.

Padilla said his decision to change his name has nothing to do with his stage play “Gandanghari” where he portrays the role of a woman.

Dressed like a supermodel, Padilla arrived at the Ninoy International Airport wearing red high heel boots, scarf and shades. The actor flew to New York to study modeling in the US city.

Asked if he would now consider sex change, he replied: “No comment.” Padilla had once opposed the idea of him undergoing an operation to have a sex change.

His ex-wife, Carmina Villaroel, meanwhile said she and Padilla have both moved on with their lives.

"Kung ano man nangyayari sa buhay niya as long as he's happy, then go. Hi BB!" she told reporters.

Padilla refused to answer questions if he is currently in a relationship.

The actor said he hopes the public would accept his new way of life, noting that he is not doing it at the expense of other people.
